The red head nodded, "Well, what're we gonna do now, sir?" Nam seemed more reassured and smiled weakly.

"Good ol' American war strategy!" Jake laughed, a few others laughed but most were still shell shocked. Dr Mallard walled from the hut and sighed. He was only 20 but he seemed older, "What's your plan sir?" he asked watching Nam fidget out of the corner of his eye.

"Fight until we're called home, I guess," he said knowing that going home now was unavoidable. He looked at South, feeling bad.

"Good man, hey by the way, that young Vietnamese... He seems rather... Erm...." Dr Mallard had noticed they were friends and didn't want to offend him, "Not combat ready?"

"I know," America said and looked down slightly, now feeling even worse about leaving. He walked to South and took his arm, and led him away from the group, "We need to talk."

"... Home?" Nam seemed completely confused by even the idea, " Sir... If you go home... I will no longer have a home." he said this very calmly, especially considering everytime America mentioned it Nam would normally go into a hysterical fit.

America watched him, and said back just as calmly, "I know... I'm sorry for getting involved in this, South, and I'm sorry for leaving when I promised to back you up..."

"A-ah..." Nam looked at the ground, "My big sister... She protected me from China and the Mongols and Japan and France... And she said she'd protect me from you... I think I understand what she meant now." the young Vietnamese walk slowly back tithe group looking the earth and swaying slightly. About five minutes ago Nam had worshiped the ground America walked on, now...."Sir, I wish you never came."

"Same here." a female voice reply as a cold metal gun barrel pressed against the back of America's head. Almost instently the group of army men were also surrounded.
