"Mmmm," he shrugged, "More or less."
Someone came and sat down next to New York and stared at Taiwan through a mop of black hair, "Who's this chick? Got a girlfriend?"
"I just met her today."
The boy shot a toothy smile at New York, "And?"
New York rolled his eyes, "Taiwan, this is Massachusetts."
Massachsetts stopped the teasing and smiled charmingly at Taiwan, "Hey," he held his hand out to shake hers.

New York rolled his eyes again. It was something he did a lot around Max.

He got Massachusett's order and went off to stand in line. Massachusetts just stared at her with his head tilted.

"Yeah," he shrugged, "Sometimes it's a little hard to agree on things. Once, way back in the day, it led to a civil war. And we almost didn't become indepent 'cause the original thirteen were constantly arguing, but John Adams," he straightened up, proud, "Fought for it and that's why America's independent," he grinned, "But in modern times we still don't get along. Expecially with things like gay marriage and the helath care bill."
